Time to cut lawmakers' vanity funding

Re: "New laws needed on govt PR spending", Business, September 20.

I support the call by a group of law experts for laws to punish elected politicians who spend state money on self-publicity – billboards featuring their image and a list of their supposed “accomplishments” – despite their failure to do anything worth mentioning for society.
Some of these politicians have even caused serious trouble for the country. Ordinary citizens are sick and tired of self-serving politicians who are one-dimensional in their thinking.
Over the last 13 years, corruption and deterioration of the education system have become bigger and bigger problems – and all because these politicians were not only inefficient but also self-obsessed.
