A Johnsen helpfully cites US Ambassador Kristie Kenney’s statement that the ban on military aid will remain in place until Thai democracy has been restored. “There is nothing that can be done about that because it is according to our law,” she said.
It saddens me, therefore, that Ms Kenny has repeatedly ignored correspondence concerning the illegal activities of a US-based multinational firm operating in Thailand.
The application of US law on foreign soil appears to have been fundamentally corrupted. At the very least it is being ambiguously and haphazardly administered.
