Sympathy for Yingluck misplaced: Her record was hardly exemplary

Ref: "Forget the ulterior motives, Russel hit a raw nerve", Letters, yesterday.

It is uncertain whether Robin Grant, as a regular contributor, writes with tongue in cheek or whether he feels obliged to adopt the role of alternative advocate.
Accusing Richard Bowler of kicking a lady when she’s down by suggesting her assets might have been transferred to others is utter nonsense. All politicians are by choice in the firing line, particularly when they’ve been shown to be somewhat irregular.
Bowler was obviously referring to a family trait and not unreasonably. Yingluck’s term as PM was hardly exemplary. She brought about her own downfall and oversaw armed violence by her supporters in defence of her premiership, which ended in the country becoming a failed state.
Grant’s sympathies do tend to be rather misplaced.
