Helping Obama 'save face' might win a friend for life

From an Asian perspective, helping a person "save face", even if that person is somewhat of an adversary, helps one make friends.
That appears to be an issue concerning President Barack Obama. His political opponents in the US are desperate and are attacking him on all fronts.
But one must not forget the adage “A friend in need is a friend indeed.”
From the perspective of pure self-interest, Thais might consider helping Obama “save face” in Southeast Asia.
