Prime Minister Prayut admits to feeling perturbed by mounting criticism of his regime. Even with absolute power, he can't muzzle or detain everybody - least of all those pesky Western ambassadors who so get under his skin.
A simpler way to block out the shrill voices of dissent presents itself, however.
On his trip to New York, the prime minister could take the opportunity to stock up on earplugs, readily available in the first- and business-class travel kits of all reputable airlines.
