From beach to mountains

SAMED RESORTS GROUP, one of top entrepreneurs on Samet island, recently celebrated its twentieth anniversary by launching its first venture away from the island – Baan Med Bua in the northern province Chiang Mai.

The party, which was held at Ao Prao Resort, drew more than 500 guests and customers and kicked off with a welcome speech by Werasak Choonhajak, the group’s director, who also introduced Baan Med Bua in Mae Rim and announced it would be offering accommodation from this cool season.

Guests and customers included Kamron Pramoj na Ayutthaya, Jina Osothsilp, Songyos Sugmakanan, Enno Drofenik, Austria’s ambassador to Thailand and his family, Suppapa Snidvongs, Wasin Inthong, Burin Nakcharoen, Nutthawat Plengsiriwat, Atirut Singhaampol, Sangravee Kositpaisal, Benjama Olarnsakul, Pannida Sevatasai, Holly Amranand, Atita Sutadarat, Pensupa Gajaseni, Laurent Sola, Piranuj Tsuwan, Pongsak Rattanaphong, Sangkaew Songkakul, Dr Korpong Rookkapan, chief operations officer at Bumrungrad Hospital, Dr Marut Masayawanit, Manothai Pramoj Na Ayudhya, Paween Limpichat, Napoldej Hetrakul, Dilok Wongwanich, Dr Chalermchai Yodmalai and Naribn Roger, as well as several well-known actors and actresses.

There was plenty of entertainment too with the Sincharoen Brothers jamming with Sumate Ongarj and the group’s staff taking the stage for an impromptu performance of “Saneh Samet”, a number penned by Sumate and Sarawut Supanyo, producer and founder of fusion jazz band The Infinity. 

Pongsak “Aof” Rattanaphong was next up, performing a set of hits and new songs and getting the guests to dance on the beach. The excitement level rose another notch when TV star Woody Milintachinda jumped on the stage and showed his DJ colours. 

Fireworks lit up the night sky before veteran musicians Byrd & Heart closed out the night with the help of Komol Pornpattanasavai, the group’s managing director and Anirut Na Songkhla, a former Siam Kolakarn Contest winner.
