Dysfunctional minds the scourge of the world

When America’s Founding Fathers drew up the Second Amendment to the Constitution, they had in mind the right of self-defence of an individual, but also the right of the people to defend the very constitution itself from an alien political ideology.

Unfortunately they did not qualify the right to bear arms. While they themselves were indisputably of sound mind, they assumed all citizens had similar rationally functioning minds. This is not the case.
A gun is perfectly harmless until empowered by a human mind. If the mind is dysfunctional, the purpose of self-defence reverts to murderous aggression, as was experienced in San Bernadino, California.
Guns are not the scourge of the world, but rather dysfunctional minds.
Where the fundamentals of an ideology motivate dysfunctional behaviour, it must follow that the fundamentals themselves are the product of a dysfunctional mind.
An ideology cannot be destroyed with bombs and tanks. It must be exposed with full disclosure of its unabridged fundamental objectives for all to see.
At the same time the purpose of the Second Amendment remains, and stands as a warning.
