Danthai wins Singha E-San Open for 2nd All Thailand trophy

[GOLF] Danthai Boonma won back-to-back All Thailand Tour titles after he beat Gunn Charoenchaikul and Chapchai Nirat by seven strokes to triumph the BT3.2 Million Singha E-San Open at the Singha Park Khon Kaen Golf Club on Sunday.

Just two months from his previous All Thailand win in the ADT co-sanctioned Boonchu Ruangkit Championship at the Ranchi Charnvee Resort and Country Club, the 21-year-old won the tour’s opener by carding the final round 67 for a total 22 under-par-266.

The Sukothai-based who carded seven birdies against a double bogey in the final has won three local events and one Asian Tour in the 2015 World Classic Championship in Singapore.

“I played exactly the way I wanted to. I putted well which really helped me to shoot scores. Even I had a double bogey because I hit to the hazard, I was confident that I still had things under control,” added Danthai who took home the winner’s cheque of Bt450,000.

“I’m playing well at the moment and it really boosts my confidence. I will focus more on the Asian Tour and some European Tour events this year. I hope to continue with this form and win my second title on the Asian Tour,” said Dantahi who next plays in India.

Gunn and Chapchai, each with a finishing 69, won BT224,250 as runner-ups after their total of 15 under-par-273. The next All Thailand Tour stops in Rayong next month.
