Documenting drama

As part of the Salaya International Documentary Film Festival taking place at the Thai Film Archive at Salaya, Buddha Monthon Sai 5 and at the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre from March 18 to 26, editor and director Mary Stephen is leading a special workshop in documentary editing from March 22 to 24 at the Archive.

Participants must have made (or be in the process of making) at least one documentary film and free to join all three days of the workshop, which will be conducted in English. Accommodation will be provided free of charge.
Stephen will also be a guest speaker at the talk “The Art of Film Editing” on March 21 from 2 to 4.30pm in the BACC’s fifth floor auditorium. 
Born and raised in Hong Kong, Stephen studied communication arts in Montreal, Canada. She collaborated with French New Wave director Eric Rohmer for more than 30 years as his film editor and co-composer, starting as assistant to Rohmer’s then-chief-editor Cecile Decugis, and becoming Rohmer’s chief-editor in 1991.
