Thais even lazier than Americans, says study

Re: “Here’s where Thailand ranked in a study on the world’s laziest countries”, The Nation, July 13.

“Thailand was ranked in 31st place out of 46, with an average of 4,764 steps taken per day by each person, just one place behind the United States in 30th which averaged 4,774 steps.”
I don’t really understand how they determine fewer or more steps during the day as laziness. They might be bossy and rich enough to just sit in their chairs all day long.

I believe climate zone affects whether people are more or less lazy. In tropical summer, people don’t want to move much as they don’t want to get sweaty.

This study comes from the United States, a country that likes to compile information on other countries, yet has the worst road safety record of the developed world, and getting worse.
