Trump has emboldened America’s growing army of Nazi-sympathisers

Even American Jews, like myself, who grew up after the Nazis’ Holocaust, were affected by it. As a child I used to have nightmares that the Nazis were looking for me. And when I asked my father if the Nazis would ever take over America, he looked at me sadly and said: “I hope not.”

Today in 2017 about 15 per cent of white Americans admit they have nothing against Nazis while the president of the United States calls them “fine people”. They’re the reason he is the president. For example, after the election was hijacked the Ku Klux Klan had a victory march in North Carolina, the battleground state they delivered to Donald Trump.
Today if I had asked my father if the Nazis could take over America he would have put his arm around my shoulders and said: “Son, it’s already happening.”
