Eric Bahrt correctly points out the duplicitous natures of Trump and his fellow flimflammers in the White House. That this blackguard passes off the successes of others as his own comes as no surprise to me, as it seems to be part of his personality. Conducting comparable month-by-month analysis of president Obama’s many positive achievements, and Trump’s lack of them, brings this entire argument sharply into focus and will doubtless do so as long as this presidency continues, however long that may be.
Exactly why Trump’s onanistic advocates in this Have Your Say column continue to be narcotised by this mountebank defies rational explanation. It’s a clear example of a flawed human trait: rank stupidity at war with common sense.
There are other words I could justifiably use to describe the execrable nature of this administration and those who continue to excuse it, but I doubt that even The Nation’s editors would allow them to make it to this column.
