The letter from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs concerning Thai sex workers in the US sounded hollow and apathetic at best, if not insincere.
It was flooded with insipid phrases like “cooperating continuously with...”, “coordinating with....”, “standing ready to work with....”, then capped with a stale “continuous cooperation with relevant stakeholders”. The only substance offered was about 24-hour hotlines – though it came without a guarantee that someone would be there to answer, rather than a machine saying no one was available.
The letter sounded uncannily like the typical response – “We value our customers and try our best ... blah-blah” – from a pay TV company after receiving complaints.
