The second series of critically acclaimed series “13 Reasons Why” will launch on Netflix on May 18, the screening service confirmed this week.

The series revolves around high-school student, Clay Jensen (Dylan Minnette), and his friend Hannah Baker (Katherine Langford), a girl who takes her own life after suffering a series of demoralising circumstances brought on by certain individuals at her school.
The first season began when Clay Jensen returns home from school to find a mysterious box lying on his porch. Inside, he discovers seven double-sided cassette tapes recorded by Hannah Baker, his classmate and unrequited love, who tragically took her own life two weeks earlier. On the tapes, Hannah unfolds an emotional audio diary, detailing the 13 reasons why she decided to end her life. Her instructions are clear: each person who receives the package is one of the reasons why she killed herself.
Season 2 picks up in the aftermath of Hannah's death and the start of the characters’ complicated journeys toward healing and recovery. Liberty High prepares to go on trial, but someone will stop at nothing to keep the truth surrounding Hannah’s death concealed. A series of ominous polaroids lead Clay and his classmates to uncover a sickening secret and a conspiracy to cover it up.
