Khosit ends as Japan Open runner-up

Thai No 2 Khosit Phetpradab had to be content with the silver medal after he lost the Japan Open final to reigning world champion Kento Momota of Japan in Tokyo on Sunday.

The world No 26 briefly tested the world No 4 in the opening game but the latter proved more superior in his all court game to win the final match in 48 minutes.

However, Khosit enjoyed the best week in his badminton career as he toppled world No 2 Shi Yuqi of China in the first round and 2016 Olympic gold medalist Chen Long in the semi-finals.
