What about all  the other crimes?

Re: “Anti-depressant use rose after Brexit vote, research claims”, Market Watch, November 22

We are encouraged to believe that the 13.4-per-cent increase in prescriptions for anti-depressants in the UK since June 2016 is due to “considerable uncertainty” caused by the Brexit referendum.
Up until June this year, there was a rather more than “considerable” double-digit rise in UK crime yet again: murder up 14 per cent, stabbings up 12, sexual offences up 18 and robberies up 22.
There are 15 acid attacks in London every week and one child sexually abused every eight minutes. But does this regression of civilised society drive us to Prozac? Perish the thought – it’s all that considerable Brexit uncertainty! And where did this nugget of “news” come from? Step forward, Agence France-Presse.
