Nene Royal brought Bangkok’s Ban Krua handwoven silk to the America’s Got Talent (AGT) 2026 final in a red costume inspired by her mother’s imagination. The Thai performer, whose real name is Rattikarn Amloy, wore the outfit during the final performance show broadcast on September 23, Thai time.
Named ‘ROCK STRONG — RED COMMANDER’, the costume combined Thai textile craftsmanship with leather and metal details, translating a family idea into a stage look designed to convey strength, confidence and elegance.
Nene’s mother inspires the ‘Red Commander’ look
Nene’s mother imagined a departure from her daughter’s previous looks, picturing an outfit that would give her a strong, assured presence while retaining elegance and the raw energy of rock.
P’Ice developed those ideas into a visual concept, establishing a clear direction for the costume. Dr Atchima Suwanchinda, credited as P’Mor Ying, then brought the concept to life as the finished outfit.
Structured shoulders and flowing details shape Nene’s costume
Nene’s vivid red outfit featured a fitted, high-neck silhouette and structured shoulders, creating the commanding shape suggested by the ‘Red Commander’ name.
Leather belts, metal studs and chains added a harder rock edge to Nene’s costume. Draping at the waist and a front slit introduced fluidity, allowing her movements on stage to remain graceful without losing the look’s sense of strength.
Ban Krua silk brings Thai craftsmanship to the stage
The fabric chosen for Nene’s costume was handwoven Ban Krua silk with metallic-thread detailing on a plain ground. It comes from the historic Cham Muslim community along Khlong Saen Saep in central Bangkok.
By incorporating Ban Krua silk into contemporary rock styling, the costume connected Nene’s stage identity with Thai craftsmanship. The design brought together the fabric’s cultural character, her mother’s creative vision and the work of the people who developed and made the outfit.
Dr. Martens boots supplied by P’Khem completed Nene’s look, adding the rugged finish described in the costume concept.
