For a country of over 300 million people, is this really the best bunch of candidates available for a future president? The extent of bickering, disagreement, talking over each other, just plain not getting it, and deviating from the questions asked surely could not inspire many to vote for any of these candidates. The only sensible comment I heard came from Ron Paul, who wants to cut defence spending and reduce the military’s overseas bases. But this did not go down well with the audience. As for the audience, at times they sounded more like the hysterical crowd one hears at late night shows. And they get a vote!
As a non-American, all I can say is if that is the best you can come up with, I see little chance the Republicans could do much to turn around the country's current woes.
I’m sure the Democrats will feel confident their campaign has been given a boost by the showing of these GOP hopefuls in this TV debate.
