I must expand on your editorial yesterday. The US$7 trillion (Bt216.37 trillion) bail-out revealed by Bloomberg isn’t the only payout by the US Federal Reserve. A partial audit by the US Government Accountability Office (GAO) of the Fed revealed $16.1 trillion in secret bailouts to banks around the world.
Some experts say the full expenditure is $29.5 trillion. You can google this if you don’t believe me. The audit also revealed many conflicts of interest in what is essentially a privately owned institution.
One can read the full report on the website of Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont. I would like your paper to publish an article on this and warn your readers to beware of the alarming extent to which “Mugabenomics” is practised by the US.
It’s much worse than the crony capitalism for which Thailand was rightly castigated in 1997.
