Racist claims useless without evidence

Political correctness gone crazy.
If the 2 alleged racial insult cases (Suarez vs Evra and Terry vs Ferdinand) Duncan Niven refers to in his letter are being dealt with in the way it has been reported so far, then the floodgates will be opened for endless similar accusations of players who want to use their race to damage their opponents.
Any claim of being insulted without the racial angle attached to it and without any third-party proof would be laughed out of court and no football association would dare to ban a player for eight matches, as in Suarez’s case, penalising his club as much as the player himself.
I sincerely hope that Liverpool and Chelsea will stand by their players unless the accusers can provide evidence for their claims. The real danger is that the court case against Terry and the hastily decided eight-match ban for Suarez will not reduce racism in football, but potentially increase it, not least among the fans of the affected clubs.
What a mess!
