What were the local Liverpool fans supposed to do? Their beloved UK squad got thumped, but the home team did the thumping!
The LFC Masters – the Kop crew of ex-greats like Robbie Fowler, Phil Babb and Mark Walters – were at Impact Arena for the Standard Chartered EPL Masters tournament, seemingly assured of glory after a season that saw Liverpool finish eighth in the English Premier League rankings.
There was no glory at Impact either, though, and fans had to be content with at least seeing their heroes playing live before their eyes. One particular Liverpool fan, outgoing British Ambassador Asif Ahmad, was unfazed by the outcome. He got to see the stars of his own youth, in one of his last big events in the post apart from Queen Elizabeth’s jubilee celebrations.
So Ahmad shrugged off the Masters’ loss and tweeted his congratulations to the Thai All-stars. Then he posed for some pictures, beaming in his Liverpool jersey.
Ananda does Don’t
We’ve seen Ananda Everingham showing off his muscles in the movies and now we’ll get to see more.
“You’ll get to see every single square inch of my skin,” he promises in a promotion for the issue of fashion journal Don’t that hits the streets tomorrow.
Well, “Thailand’s first free high-fashion magazine” doesn’t exactly hit the streets. It’s stylishly distributed at 300 outlets in posh malls and trendy coffeeshops.
Ananda did a 16-page spread at a rustic old pier in Chonburi and the photographer dressed him as a rustic old fisherman, but he still manages to exude that natural sexiness. Plus there’s an interview with the always-busy actor inside that the fans will love.
