Mixed fortunes for Thai trio at the US Women's Open

It was a slow start for the three Thai players in the US Women's Open with Jantima "Numa" Gulyanamitta the best of the trio with a 73 in the opening round at Blackwolf Run in Wisconsin.

Tour rookie Numa traded two birdies against three bogeys to tie for 24th place.
Thai No 1 Pornanong Phatlum suffered a disastrous triple bogey on the eighth hole to end the day on 76 for a tie of 77th, four shots ahead of teenage amateur Moriya Jutanugarn who hit a 80 and lies 126th. Americans Cristie Kerr, Brittany Lincicome and LPGA rookie Lizette Salas each fired a three-under-par 69 to share the lead.
