Why not cut away the malignant tumour?

"US coddles fugitive mass-murdering Thai dictator while berating Syria in its desperate fight against al-Qaeda" is the headline of a story at Iran International News Online (http://hamsayeh.net).

It has a picture of Thaksin Shinawatra talking to George W Bush, who is much higher up the ladder in the mass-killing stakes.
With the Iranians as public enemy No 1, this will be downplayed by many, but it is well documented. The article states that Thaksin was appointed by the Carlyle Group as an adviser while holding public office (citing a Nation commentary of that time).
The article is more believable than Thaksin’s image of himself as a prai (slave) pitching himself against the amart (feudal lords), an attitude that has divided the nation and attracted Maoists to his party, placing them in the front row of the stalls.
Love of money is the root of all evil. When will Thailand begin chemotherapy to rid itself of this cancer that dominates its public life?
