Itchy work for animated Nose

Comedian Udom "Nose" Taepanich was pretty much obligated to lend his voice to the character Brooks in the upcoming Thai animation "Yak" ("The Giant Monster") after the production team told him they based Brooks on him.

“And when I saw him I thought, ‘Yes, he does resemble me a lot!’” Nose notes. But he soon discovered that being a voice actor isn’t as easy as it sounds.
Brooks isn’t even a main character in the film, instead hovering on the fringes, but Nose struggled mightily in the studio to get the timing right and match the vocal inflections with the facial expressions.
Plus, with the main characters, he says, “they weave the story to the actors’ voices and create the animation concurrently. But Brooks was done the old-school way, all dubbed afterward to match the completed animation, so I had to match his lip movements.”
He had no idea what kind of voice to give Brooks, so he taped several – elderly, southerner, gangster – and “let the producer choose”. “I don’t even know which one will be used!”

Dis-a-greed
We mentioned yesterday that Kantana boss Jitlada “Tukta” Disayanan had gone Facebook-public with her fury at an unnamed “irresponsible” TV actor being AWOL from the set too often because he (or she) was too busy earning extra cash attending commercial events.
Now we need to report it is pure coincidence that Kemanij “Pancake” Jamikorn might get sacked from “Wan Nee Tee Ror Koy” for exactly this reason.
In fact, Pancake’s agent-mother had complained loudly that such time-consuming studio demands as costume fittings were cutting into her daughter’s retail potential. She ended up in a row with the production crew led by director Thongchai Prasongsanti.
It seems clear that Pancake is not the anonymous culprit who’s drawn Tukta’s ire – “Wan Nee Tee Ror Koy” is not even a Kantana production.
But the feud confirms that producers and their big stars have a festering problem that needs sorting out soon, especially if Pancake gets flattened.
