I find Stephff's series on the art of being ridiculous in Thailand, farang-style, highly entertaining, and suggest that eventually he should turn it into a book. (It might be a pretty big book.)
There does seem to be one little intercultural glitch that Stephff might want to correct in the book version. My knowledge could be way out of date, but in my day no respectable Thai girl would go alone on a date with a farang. She would be accompanied by at least one girlfriend to act as a chaperone and protect her chastity. In cases of extreme respectability, she might be accompanied by an entire battalion of girlfriends, all expecting the farang to feed them. If the girls all decided to take him shopping afterwards, the true scope of the economic burden he had unwittingly assumed would finally impact upon the farang’s tiny brain.
But maybe things have changed. I hope so.
