The North awash with suspect projects

Here in the far North, as ever, the Bangkok poser elite takes advantage while wounds fester and rot. Illegal casinos abound, often run by the police, as do loan shops. Gamblers hock their vehicles and policemen take them further north to sell.

The main road to the airport was repaired unnecessarily, and now is worse for it, while half of the north-south airport route has crumbled away. Many, many smaller roads are crumbling also. Road works in front of Rajapat, where, despite flooding, the road was fine, proceeds at a painfully slow pace, while an abundance of nightspots advertise expensive liquors that one could hardly expect college students to purchase. Mountains south of Wiang Chai have been levelled to raise the surrounding ground level, and the price, of Amphur Muang land, with the side effect of raising average temperatures. Opticians and coffeeshops without customers abound absurdly, helping wash abundant cash, while the prices of everything rise dramatically.
But hi-so Bangkok finds no reason to care.
