Too fast with the facts? Then we'll be furious

Will this be another case of "lost in translation"? "Asian star Tony Jaa joins 'Fast & Furious 7'," The Hollywood Reporter roared over the weekend in a story swiftly translated into Thai for the ASTV Manager website, and fans of action star Thatchak

The announcement, which was accepted as a done deal, spread like wildfire.
Well, THR writer Borys Kit quoted Jaa’s e-mail to him, after all. “I have been a big fan of the Fast & Furious franchise,” Jaa allegedly wrote. “The films are fast-paced, fun and keep the audience involved. There is a great mix of humour and action, something I really appreciate. There is no better film to be involved in for a first US studio production.”
The same story said filming begins early next month on the latest instalment of the “Furious” car-chase franchise. Will Tony Jaa be there, gunning the engine alongside various muscular Hollywood he-men?
Let’s wait and see, because Somsak “Sia Jiang” Techaratanaprasert, head of Sahamongkol – the studio that usually handles Jaa’s cinematic exploits – called an urgent press conference last night, after Soopsip had gone to bed. The studio said only that Sia Jiang would “talk about Jaa”. So, either he’ll confirm that his boy is off to the big leagues – or he’ll call it a bunch of hogwash.

Those people again
You should never say “never again”, but surely this must be the final dispatch from the Janie-Ae front. We finally have a reaction from Nantida “Tu” Kaewbuasai about her ex-beau, Samut Prakan politician Chonsawat “Ae” Asawahame, hastily marrying actress Janie Thienphosuvan two weeks ago.
Okay, boys, let’s do it, Tu told the press at the GMM Grammy “7 Returns” concert. She confirmed that they split up years ago but said Ae maintains a strong bond with their daughter, Nong Pleng. “She still loves her dad dearly.”
Asked whether they’d really never been legally married, as Ae claimed, Tu said only, “Let bygones be bygones.” As for him marrying Janie, she respects his decision. “After our separation he didn’t have anyone, but now he wants to start anew. I’m happy for him and have no hard feelings toward Janie.”
And with that, Tu hopes, she is no longer obliged to serve as what the press called “the professional first wife”.
Meanwhile a large crowd gathered inside and outside the Samut Prakan Municipal Office last Wednesday when the newlyweds popped in to get Mrs Asavahame a fresh ID card bearing the new surname. Quite thrilling for “the fans and the curious” – if you get a kick out of looking at the beefy backs and necks of Janie’s 10 bodyguards.
Funny, that’s the same number of bodyguards that accompanied her to the recent l’Oreal product launch where Janie said the cosmetics firm had hired them for her. You wouldn’t think l’Oreal would pay for them to follow her everywhere, would you?
