First, it is hard to tell whether such programmes are meant for the good of the people or designed to make a political party look good. Any observations on that from Thais?
Second, the seemingly fly-by-the-seats-of-their-pants approach to the implementation is very American: in most, if not all, such US programmes, it has been so. Just do it!
Remember the great loosening of US lending that led to the subprime-loan and mortgage crisis – shoot first and ask questions later?
Shakespeare wrote, “All the world’s a stage,” and this is simply another act in the US tragicomedy called politics. Now, what about Thai theatre?
