Who needs morality when we have amnesty?

This country needs a blanket amnesty for all future offenders, especially for those who are guilty of trying to ram through an amnesty.

For the sake of our uncertain futures we need it. And amnesty for anyone who opposes it, violently or otherwise. We need amnesty for all the dastardly acts we are forced to conduct in opposition to politicians trying to write themselves amnesties. How about an amnesty in advance for any corruption we might have to conduct in pursuit of our much-needed amnesties, against any lawsuit, impeachment or censure against massive fraud, economic loss, populist disaster, nepotism, dereliction of duty or any further damage to the state resulting from our single-minded pursuit of amnesty? Why stop there? Every parking ticket, accidental homicide from drunken driving, drug-war death or stock-market fraud could be described as politically motivated in this era.
For the sake of our future lives, we need an amnesty in perpetuity for all the coups of the past, present or future. Just to be sure, legislate an open-ended amnesty – a sort of blank cheque – that can be applied to any situation that might arise when we are not in power or a position to write ourselves an amnesty. We can label it reconciliation. That way we will forever be mired in amnesties in search of the
elusive.
