It sounds like one of those “why didn’t I think of that” ideas: Wrangler now has a spa in its women’s jeans.
Mick Jagger’s fashion-designer daughter Lizzie has come up with the Wrangler Denim Spa line of skinny-fit jeans that soothe your legs and hips as you stroll and loiter. And they’re now available in spa-crazy Thailand.
The pioneering pants incorporate skincare ingredients that protect your legs from what Wrangler refers to as the dehydrating effects of denim. Maysinee Wisitnorapatt, the firm’s senior marketing manager at Central Marketing Group, says the innovation is called a “Cosmetic Garment”.
“The jeans are treated with a unique anti-cellulite and moisturising formula,” she says. “It’s a blend of natural cosmetic ingredients, micro-encapsulated deep in the fibres of your jeans. These capsules burst under the friction of wear, delivering their goodness directly to your skin.”
There’s a “pleasant therapeutic aroma” while the capsules pop, she adds, and wearers feel relaxed, “as if they’re getting a spa treatment while squeezing into the”.
The “cosmetics” keep working for 15 days and then you can buy a “reload spray”. Keep reloading and the jeans will stay effective for the next 67 to 95 times you wear them.
Denim Spa jeans come in three finishes. Aloe Vera uses extracts of that plant to moisturise, Olive Extract has squalane from the olive tree, and Smooth Legs fights cellulite with caffeine, retinol and an algae extract.
The denim is cut to “lift the shape” as though the jeans are individually custom-made. The “Mould the Body” concept accentuates feminine curves and makes legs look longer. Women can choose between skinny Alec jeans and slim-fit Molly jeans.
