Where is Abhisit?

I have closely monitored the English-language newspapers and various Thai television news broadcasts for the past weeks, but the only face that is apparent is that of former Democrat Party member Suthep Thaugsuban.
Where is the supposed leader of the Democrat Party, Abhisit Vejjajiva? I had long regarded Eton- and Oxford-educated Abhisit as the voice of reason in an otherwise intellectually sterile political environment.
Has he abrogated his responsibilities and handed over to a man who has charisma, but little intellect and certainly no reasoned plan to sort out the mess of Thai politics?
If that is the case, God help Thailand!
