My answers to Simon Wood:
First, even though the current Constitution came about after the 2006 coup, at least the people accepted it through a referendum. Any amendment should have been done through referendum too. The Constitutional Court has issued advice on this.
Second, last November, the court ruled against the draft amendment bill for an all-elected Senate because the draft that was submitted to Parliament was altered after it had been passed. Also, the second reading of the bill was cut short in order to rush the vote through and thus violated House regulations.
As a foreigner, Simon Wood should be cautious when making remarks concerning a country he seemingly knows little about.
Don’t just rely on the media.
