Leading pay-TV operator GMM Z recently organised the second in its popular “Tweed Run Bangkok” series, inviting couples to ride their bikes along the city’s streets before settling down to watch the love story “Khid Thueng Wataya” (“The Teacher’ Diary” on the big screen.
More than 100 cyclists, led by singers Chinawut “Chin” Indracusin and Wanthongchai “Tol” Inthonwat and GMM Z's chief operations officer Dew Woratangtrakul, dressed up in vintage gear and met up at Benchakitti Park for some lessons in how to stay healthy and safe on the road from members of Serithai Bike Club.
All managed to reach CentralWorld without incident then parked up and went inside for the movie, a recent GTH hit that pays tribute to the rural schoolteacher and stars Sukrit “Bie” Wisetkaew and Chermarn Boonyasak.
After the film, Chin and Tol took to the stage for energetic sets that had the crowd screaming for more.
Thai-French artist Chin Chinawut kicked off the concert with “Khon Thamada”, a soundtrack of Channel 3’s 2009 TV drama “Sood Sanae Ha” starring Theeradej “Ken” Wongpuapan and Ann Thongprasom then followed up with “Lun La” and “Khuen Nee Yak Dai Kee Khrang.”
Screams rose a few decibels when Tol came out on stage with covers of WhaChaRaWaLee's “Avenue” and Season Five's “Event” before singing his hit single “Ngao Muean Kan Rue Plao” though without his music video pal, Channel 3’s new actress Esther Supreeleela.
The entertainment came to an end with the announcement of the winners in the Cetaphil Couple Awards in the three categories of Sweet Couple, Chic Couple and Spice Couple.
“Thanks to GMM Z and Cetaphil for persuading us to take part in this interesting activity. It was the first time we rode a bike vintage style and had the opportunity to learn about warming up and safety,” said Chin.
“It is very important that cyclists learn the rules of the road, and remember to use hand signals and wear their helmet,” Tol added.]
