If you want to enjoy music while exercising, you’ll love Jabra Sport Pulse Wireless in-ear headphones with built-in Bluetooth heart rate monitor.
The earphones have good Dolby-enhanced sound quality and the set has a heart rate monitor embedded in the left earphone to check your pulse.
Sport Pulse Wireless looks sleek in black. It has a footprint of 5x2.4x2.5cm and weighs only about 16 grams, so you can comfortably wear the earphones during your training.
It connects to your smartphone or tablet or other sound source using Bluetooth 4.0 with Audio/Video Remote Control Profile (AVRCP). It also has NFC (near field communications) technology to assist the pairing to an NFC-enabled smartphone.
For playing music, I found that the Sport Pulse Wireless has good sound. It reproduced music with good details and good bass too.
For example, when I listened to “Hotel California” by the Eagles, I could hear details of all the instruments, including percussion, and the deep sounds from the drum and bass guitar also sounded good.
What makes Sport Pulse Wireless very interesting for music and sport lovers is its Bluetooth heart rate monitor.
The monitor works with the Jabra Sport Life app and other apps that support it. Jabra says the monitor can work with Endomondo, Runkeeper, Strava and MapMyFitness apps.
Jabra Sport Life provides an all-in-one training solution. Apart from checking the calories you have burned, the distance you have run or cycled and the time you have exercised, it also monitors your heart rate by receiving data from Sport Pulse Wireless.
Monitoring heart rate helps us know our limits in exercising and allows up to try to increase those limits to become fitter.
Jabra Sport Life provides an audio coach to tell us to speed up or slow down to maintain our heart beat in the zone we set.
In the workout option, Jabra Sport Life lets you set goals from Light, Fat burn, Cardio, Intense and Maximum options.
The app allows you to choose an activity – Running, Cycling, Walking, Hiking, Sking, Skating, Running (treadmill) and Walking on the treadmill.
During the test I found that Jabra Sport Life reported my normal heart beat at about 61/62 beats per minute. I exercised with the so-called Scientific 7-Minute Workout of 12 exercises and checked my heart rate with Jabra Sport Life to find that my heart rate jumped to about 100/101bpm.
Jabra Sport Pulse Wireless is designed to be tough. The earbuds are sweat- and weatherproof, so you can run in the rain – as long as your smartphone is also waterproof.
The earphones are designed to fit into your ears without falling while you run. Jabra Sport Pulse Wireless uses ear wings to lock the earphones to inside of your ears. The package comes with three sizes of wings and four sizes of ear buds.
Jabra Sport Pulse Wireless is distributed in Thailand by RTB Technology for Bt7,490 and is also available at Jaymart shops.
