Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha should be lauded for his determination to take criminal and civil action against the people responsible for implementing the rice-price scheme that has incurred close to a trillion baht worth of damage to the country.
I would suggest that, for fairness and to prevent future wrongdoings, those found guilty should be ordered to repay the Bt680 billion.
As well, the people in the judiciary branch who are tasked with prosecuting the case and yet refuse to proceed should by reminded of the staggering damage involved. They should be cautioned to stop procrastinating – or be put under review for inefficacy and redundancy.
