A RUMOUR WAS going around that Vuthithorn “Woody” Milintachinda’s variety show “Tuen Ma Kui” on Modernine would soon be terminated following the departure of co-hosts Mayura Savetsila and Kachapa “Moddam” Tancharoen.
At the moment Woody’s left sitting there with two remaining co-hosts, Thanyaret Engtrakul and Chalermpol “Jack” Tikampornteerawong, and there was speculation that they weren’t enough to fill out the set. Or something like that. The five had worked together since the show debuted in March 2013.
Please resume your daily routine, however, because Woody has rushed forward to assure viewers that the vacant seats will soon be filled and the show will go on, as shows are wont to do in show business.
He also hastens to clarify that he lost a sizeable segment of his hosting staff not because of any animosity or friction but simply because Mayura and Moddam are moving on to better things. There was no rift or misunderstanding, he says, and in fact, “We are very sad that Pi Tak [Mayura] is leaving to focus on her TV project.
“Throughout almost two years we have been like family. I do hope we will come back together in the near future and rejoin the same path,” Woody says, all statement like.
Mayura’s last day on the show was Wednesday, and there were indeed clear indications of the bond shared among all the hosts. Sadness drifted about like a lost feather on the breeze. “It was an honour to work with a top actress like you,” Moddam remarked later on Instagram. “I won’t forget it and I look forward to working with you again, my dear sister.”
Mayura got a little choked up too. “I never thought I could ever host an early-morning TV show, but I did it. Thanks to this programme I got a chance to have a lovely sister in Thanya, and Woody is one of the most inspiring young people I’ve ever worked with. I love all of them,” she said.
"I love you, sis,” Thanyaret replied on Instagram.
Friday brought Moddam’s turn to say goodbye. He’s returning to his old job as a radio DJ on GMM Grammy’s “Chae Tae Chow” show.
So the head count on “Tuen Ma Kui” is now down to three, but Woody insists that fresh faces are on their way and the show is in for a big revamp too. Hands up anyone who’d like to have a go. Just remember you have to get up very, very early in the morning – like around five past midnight.
