It shows how hypocritical these two major parties are as far as solving the problem of wealth disparity goes.
The proposed land tax bill is good. But the devil is in the detail only.
Both Pheu Thai and the Democrats should show their sincerity by advising how the proposed bill’s wording should have been in order to make it essential for the country’s rich to start paying taxes according to their wealth.
They should also advise how to include the poor in the tax structure but in a way that will not make them poorer, giving the country a tax system that is both rewarding and equitable.
The two major parties should stop being myopic, and start thinking long-term for the country’s benefit.
