Thanong Khanthong was spot on in saying that Washington is losing its clout after important allies like the UK, Germany, France and Italy have expressed interest in becoming members of the China-led Asia Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB).
The “new world order” is indeed beginning to shift away from the West.
The phrase “new world order” attracted international attention when former US president George HW Bush, in his speech before Congress in 1991, announced that the US should create a kind of world government, with Washington as its centre of power.
Now, it looks like the new world order as envisioned by Bush is already starting shift its centre towards the East.
