Uncontrolled jet-ski use is dangerous for swimmers

Re: "Five Koh Pha-ngan jet-ski operators arrested", National, July 3.

While it is surely thrilling to ride a jet-ski near Thailand’s lovely beaches, it must also be said that there is the strong danger of a nasty collision when these speeding vehicles are operated too near the beach, with many swimmers, including children, in the water.
Any swimmer struck by a powerful jet-ski is surely going to be seriously injured.
Having more lifeguards and monitors provided by the jet-ski businesses to catch miscreant users would help make the lovely beaches safer for everyone.
