Motivated by movies at the World Film Fest

STILL LOTS TO see as the 13th World Film Festival of Bangkok rolls into its closing weekend at SF World Cinema at CentralWorld.

Among the highlights this year has been a special selection of Israeli films, among them “The Human Resources Manager”, which is a dark comedy about the manager of a bread factory trying to stop a damaging newspaper article. There’s also “Zero Motivation”, about bored female Israeli army conscripts, counting down their last days in uniform. Both are showing on Sunday.
The closing entry of the festival is “Suffragette”, a British historical drama that is already garnering Oscar buzz for its performances by Carey Mulligan, Meryl Streep and Helena Bonham Carter. It’s an invite-only screening, but don’t feel left out if your name isn’t on the list – “Suffragette” is due for a general release in cinemas.
