Re: “Testing the claim that The Nation is biased”, Letters, August 17.
Egon’s contention that “American bases are there at the request of the nations concerned, to defend their sovereignty against foreign aggression” reminded me of an excellent cartoon that appeared in your newspaper quite a while ago, but which I feel succinctly portrayed the situation.
The cartoon depicted terrified men, women and children fleeing from a group of attack helicopters that had appeared on the horizon.
The caption read, “Run for your lives – the Americans are coming to save us!”
