Time Thais made a stand: Do we want democracy?

It is troubling that former Chulachomklao Military Academy classmates of Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o- cha - now members of the National Reform Steering Council - are raising the possibility of setting up a political party.

Any new party launched specifically to help General Prayut hold onto power should be regarded as extremely undesirable. Any effort to prolong the military’s presence in politics is detrimental to the country’s future.
It’s about time we Thais developed a mindset that insists coups are no longer necessary. From now on democracy must be allowed to take its own course, regardless of any obstacle.
Remember: 84 years has been wasted already as a result of this vicious coup-democracy-coup cycle!
