A trade deal that is not about free trade

I’m sure Egon would be aware of Noam Chomsky, one of the world’s leading critical thinkers and someone who doesn’t pander to authority. Please google Chomsky’s thoughts on the Trans-Pacific Partnership trade deal and listen to what he says. The TPP is about gaining rights to land and customers for massive corporations. It is not about free trade.

In fact Chomsky says the TPP is very restrictive, giving the right for instance to a company to enter private property and seize crops the property owner has grown if they are deemed a restricted food under the deal. What is the definition of a restricted food? Literally anything! Beware the powers the TPP creates. In Chomsky’s view, this is in fact a massive step backwards!
