Trump must heed China’s call on nuclear weapons
As an American living abroad much of the year I have real concerns, like many other millions, about the future direction of the United States and its place in the world as an example of democracy and the fair treatment of all.
My No 1 hope is that the new Trump administration will take seriously what the leadership of communist China has proposed: The world needs to reduce nuclear weapons.
Premier Li Keqiang has reached out to the rest of the world. President Trump, you need to listen. Anyone who visits suffering locales and learns first-hand what nuclear power can unleash on the world, from Hiroshima to peacetime catastrophes such as Fukushima, should consider atomic power as something that we must not only curtail, but eliminate altogether.
Trump, the world is waiting for you to be smart and take a leadership position to keep not only America safe, but the world too. You must be intelligent enough to realise that a safe world is a safe United States.
