A new “beach” for Central Embassy

The latest addition to posh mall Central Embassy is Siwilai City Club – a social club spanning 1,200 square metres on the fifth floor.

The lifestyle concept space aims to inspire multi-generational, culture seekers and modern minds alike with its laid back, fun and lively atmosphere. It comprises seven different sections; Eatery, Deli, Terrace, The Grill, City Lounge, Sports Bar and Souvenirs Shop. While each concept has its own character thanks to custom-made furnishing crafted by Yabu Pushleberg, together they complete an all-encompassing, full-sensory experience that evolves with every visit.

Led by a passionate culinary programme that champions local sourcing and sustainability, the menus are created in adherence to a simple philosophy; maximum flavour, minimal waste. The “root to leaf” approach endeavours to build lasting partnerships with local farmers and producers, yielding high quality, source- and process-conscious ingredients that make all the difference to the diners as well as the environment. As such, the dining experience is one that promotes permutations of old-meets-new, tradition-meets-innovation, all underscored by a spirit of sustainability.

With multiple points of access from within the Central Embassy, the experience and approach can shift and change with each visit. A city-meets-beach concept is communicated at the boardwalk entrance, where a facade of blue ombre-stained white oak planks, in various sizes and thicknesses, are paired with indigo teak shutters and corrugated metal planters in various shapes and sizes. The shutters are then overlaid with a curvilinear neon light installation, acting as a beacon from within the mall. Visible from all levels from the mall’s central atrium, the neon light installation is experienced differently based on the vantage point; from above, and straight-on, the installation is abstract, but from below, it reads ‘Beach In The Sky’ in Thai script.

It’s open daily from 10am to 1pm. Visit www.SiwilaiBkk.com for details.
