Xenophobic letter writer should grow up

Re: “There is no xenophobia in Europe. A phobia is an irrational fear.”

Here we go again, JC Wilcox peddling fantasy semantics to support his very real Islamophobia. I have no idea where he gets his selective definitions from, but the three I have consulted show no mention of the word “irrational”.
Take the highly respected Cambridge dictionary, for example: “Fear or hatred of foreigners, people from different cultures, or strangers”; “fear or dislike of the
customs, dress, etc, of people who are
culturally different from oneself”.
Perhaps Wikipedia has a new version, of which 99.99 percent of rational people are as yet unaware and would dismiss as nonsense?
JC Wilcox’s de facto dislike or hatred of Muslims is well documented in the Letters page of The Nation, as are his amateurish and biased interpretations of what is happening on the European continent and elsewhere. It’s tiresome, it’s exhausted, it’s
extremist, it’s foolhardy, and it’s immature.
Grow up, Wilcox.
