What would it be without another missive from Eric Bahrt.
Among other things, Eric babbles on about dogs trained to work with the police or the blind.
Well, in nearly 40 years association with Thailand, and in travels all over the country, I have never seen a guide dog. An Internet search, admittedly not thorough, revealed this from 2005:

Essentially it says there is probably only one person in the country who uses a guide dog, and it is basically useless.
As for police work, police worldwide use dogs to intimidate:

An interesting choice of animal if dogs are as cute, cuddly and as inoffensive as the doggists would have us believe. So let’s drop that fallacy shall we? Dogs are inherently vicious animals.
And as for me being a “rounded human being”, perhaps Eric should look in the mirror.
Nigel Pike, in his effusive waffle does raise one small but valid point.
Dogs in a rural environment, where houses are spaced miles rather than yards apart, could be tolerable. But then he destroys his own argument by stating, “In my village of 80 households there are around 30 dogs.”
He must be deaf if he doesn’t hear the yelping, blind if he doesn’t see dog mess, and as foolish as Eric if he is not very nervous around the packs.
And as for “Man’s best friend”, tell that to the victims shown here:

Neither Eric nor Nigel has even attempted to answer the questions posed in my previous letter.
Neither offers any solutions.
Both are very much part of the problem.
Remember this – if you keep a dog, your neighbours hate you.
Suffered dogs too long
