Yingwai Suchaovanich offers some interesting prose on Trump. Given the man’s record since January last year, or indeed before that, it’s not difficult to see why PINO Trump attracts so much negative publicity. In that sense, Suchaovanich’s words resonate. There is after all some justification for constructively criticising a classic example of the inverse ratio between the size of the mouth and that of the intellect.
Where Suchaovanich’s argument falls down, and not for the first time, is his lachrymose attempt to portray Russia as an injured party in global politics, a naughty “rogue state” by “US standards”.
Hardly just the US, and with the American intelligence community’s accurate, and proven, assessment of Russian interference in the 2016 election in mind. Not the acme of peace and global stability one might be led to believe, then. I would expect the Novichok-infested English city of Salisbury to agree with that, along with nervous leaders in the wider West European continent, the Baltic states. Ukrainians in Kiev, Ukrainians in Crimea, Georgians in Georgia, Chechens in Chechnya, and so on.
Moreover, these priceless gems of insight are compounded by this writer’s apparent endorsement of Russian weapons sales. Hardly surprising, given that many of these Russian ordnance platforms were tested in Syria.
