Prayut and President Moon Jae-in reviews military honor guards (See gallery)

Prime Minister and Defence Minister General Prayut Chan-o-cha welcomes President Moon Jae-in of the Republic of Korea, in a state visit in a ceremony at Government House today. The visitor is paying his state visit to Thailand, which is a first in the past seven years by a president. 

 

 

The aim of the President’s visit is to strengthen strategic partnership with Thailand according to the Korea's New Southern Policy (NSP) to promote interactions with each ASEAN member, and cooperation between South Korea and ASEAN, including Thailand as ASEAN chair.

 

 

Both leaders conduct a review of military honor guards, hold a bilateral meeting, and conduct signing of agreements, appeear in a joint press conference, and enjoy a luncheon today (September 2).

 

 

Thai government's spokeswoman Narumon Pinyosinwat said that President's visit is expected to provinde a good opportunity for both countries to reinforce strategic partnership under Korea’s NSP and Thailand 4.0 master plan.


 

Existing cordial relations and cooperation will be built upon in a tangible manner, both at bilateral, sub-regional, and regional levels, Narumon said.

The two leaders will also witness the signing of six agreements and memorandum. Executives from over 100 South Korea’s leading firms, chiefs of government agencies, and the media will also ccompany President Moon Jae-in in his official visit to Thailand.
