Somkid seeks more Turkish investment in EEC

A trade mission from Turkey met with Deputy Prime Minister Somkid Jatusripitak at Government House today (September 4) on an official visit to Thailand and the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC), said government spokesperson Narumon Pinyosinwat.

Prior to the meeting, Somkid said that he would use this opportunity to explain Thailand’s economic and investment policies as well as the government’s development strategy for the EEC, hoping to draw more investors from Turkey to the mega-project.
“The government is committed to promoting industries that are driven by innovation and technology,” he said. “Many mega projects in EEC areas will add value to Thailand’s existing products and promote new innovations that will benefit both Thailand and its investing partners.”

“We hope this visit will lead to sustainable cooperation in the future, as Turkey firmly believes that Asia Pacific is the region of growth and investment opportunities, ” he added.

Somkid seeks more Turkish investment in EEC Though the global economy is slowing down due to the prolonged US-China trade war, Thailand still has promising opportunities for investors, Somkis said.
“Thailand has a geographical advantage as a hub for manufacturing and logistics in the Asean region as well as an economic centre for the Mekong sub-region countries (CLMVT).
